RiMacLifeTV is a blog showcasing my talents as a HipHop artist, producer, and engineer. Everyday I will offer a glimpse inside my world with the intention of helping anyone interested in enhancing their skills in the studio. Paying for studio time can get very expensive which leads to small investments in a computer and some kind of software. However, reading those manuals and spending the hours of time learning how to use the software can easily take you away from doing the things you love doing most…
With this in mind I decided to create RiMacLifeTV. My plan is to show you daily what I do in the studio to give you a hands on experience. If you are a producer looking to learn out to get your track radio ready, this blog is for you. If you don’t want to be an engineer but want to know how to communicate with your engineer better, this blog is for you. If you are an independent or major artist that wants to take their overall sound to the next level, this blog is for you!
A little background info on me…
Audio engineering is a skill I learned by mistake! As an independent Hip-Hop artist and producer I am always making new music for myself or others. However, after wasting all kinds of money in the studio paying engineers to mix my music, I decided to open up the manuals and teach myself! I figured how hard could it be? Well, it was more work than I expected, but along the way found I had an incredible talent to mix.
My mom is a Jazz vocalist and raised my family by singing in nightclubs. As a single parent my mom would sometime have to take me to her gigs and unknowingly, her passion and love for music was passed along to me. The experiences I had as a child gave me the desire to go to college and pursue music as a career. I completed college with a BS degree in Marketing and a MBA in administration. It was hard disciplining myself to stay in school while the dream of becoming a Hip-Hop superstar stayed in my mind every day. Although it was hard I didn’t quit and decided to finish. After I finished graduate school I completed my debut album “RiZiometry” and launched www.RiMacMusicGroup.com. RiMac Music Group is an entertainment company specializing in live events, artist development, music production, and audio engineering services.
Instead of hiring an engineer to mix my album I purchased a few books on audio engineering and taught myself. There were times I didn’t sleep mixing songs on the album, however I proudly released “RiZiometry” April 15th, 2008. If I could, I would give you the album for free because I think it’s a classic album! It is available in CD and on Itunes for download. As a matter of fact, if you join Club Rimac I give you a free download of my single “Me and My Benz” from the album!
Teaching myself how to mix and master music along with starting RiMac Music Group gave me the feeling I can help offer my expertise and experiences to other musicians that would like to do the same. If your an artist or musician and read this far you I would suggest you to subscribe!
